一种未来的缘起

2017年无疑是将被载入当代艺术史册的极其重要的一年，国内外各大艺术盛事释放出新鲜的能量和活力，频频引发着我们对于艺术的内涵和外延、以及艺术教育的再思考。作为一所致力于培养创造性人才的艺术设计教育机构，西安欧亚艾德艺术设计学院在2017年9月与三影堂摄影艺术中心联合推出“寓言”第九届三影堂摄影奖作品展，试图通过对中国最具代表性的当代摄影艺术作品的探讨和交流，搭建一个以摄影为主题、能够引申出更多触角的艺术交流和分享平台，参与构筑西安乃至更大范畴、更为完整的艺术教育生态。

当代艺术是艾德艺术设计学院教育文化和教学内容不可或缺的重要组成。摄影关乎精神性的思考和看世界的方式，作为学院最为重要的基础课程之一，是艾德教学体系中当代艺术的主要载体。当下，数字摄影技术和多种媒介的融合广泛体现在艺术、设计、传媒、科技应用等各领域；摄影家、或以摄影为一种表达手段的艺术家们开始重新定义自己的身份，呈现出远未枯竭的表现潜力，而他们所代表的中国摄影已经并正在更深入地融入到世界当代艺术版图中。在这样的专业发展语境下，摄影及数字影像从今年开始也将成为艾德艺术设计学院一个新的专业方向。这意味着，我们也希望此次展览和交流能够为这个新专业方向积聚学术能量和活力。

从上世纪80年代的“西方影会”、“陕西群体”开始，西安的摄影艺术家们一直是中国当代摄影最为活跃的力量之一。这一次展览，我们特别邀请胡武功、张辉先生做学术支持，承蒙他们的支持将一系列艺术家论坛、讲座从欧亚学院延伸到西安美术学院、西安理工大学、西安当代美术馆、原影像馆等高校和公共艺术教育机构，就是希望以此为契机聚合当代摄影艺术以及从事当代摄影艺术教育的研究和实践者，让思想碰撞，意见相遇，让创新发酵。

三影堂今年十年了——十年期间，她成为了中国民间最具影响力的当代摄影艺术的国际性展览、交流和教育平台，挖掘了一批拓展了当代摄影边界的艺术家；作为一所建校二十二年的民办高校，西安欧亚学院也正走在致力于成为中国最受尊敬的国际化私立大学的路上，培养着具有独立精神和性格的新时代人才。每一步都是未来的缘起：对一种更长远目标的共同追求奠定了我们积极整合的基础。这是三影堂第一次在西安、更是第一次在高校主办展览和交流活动，希望未来我们能一起创造更多这样的机会。

The Prelude of a Kind of Future

As an extraordinary year of contemporary art history with academically significant art events happening, year 2017 is a time of rethinking on art and art education for us. Therefore, it’s also a good timing for School of Art and Design, Eurasia University, to collaborate with Three Shadows Photography Center and present 2017 the 9th Three Shadows Photography Award Exhibition. We intend to take it as a chance to set up an exchange platform of contemporary photography and approach a better art education ecology in Xi’an.

Photography is a way of observing, thinking and reflecting, thus as one of the most important course in art and design school, it carries the essence of contemporary art for teachers and students. With the increasing influence of digital photography and its multi-functional application, photographers or artists who take photography as a way of media have been re-identified and demonstrated tremendous artistic potential, driven by which we would start to develop photography not only as a course but a new direction of discipline. We hope the exhibition and dialogue happened this time could be able to inject academic energy and vitality to the update of the photography education for the school. 

Xi’an has always been playing an important role in contemporary photography history since 1980’s. Honored to get academic support from the distinguished contemporary photographers in Xi’an as Hu Wugong, Zhanghui, we are able to spread the range of the activity to more high schools and museums, in hope to link and consolidate the strengths of contemporary photographers and educators to create a better circle of exchange and creation.

Three Shadow Photography Art Center has come to her 10th anniversary in 2017 with great achievement on developing China’s contemporary photography, and Eurasia University is also on his road to become the most respected private university. Both institutions share a common vision and mission to cultivate independent art voice and creative talent. We hope that this would be a nice prelude of a kind of future for more collaborations and surprises.
