腊八节，喝粥别忘学英语
今天是农历腊月初八，传说这天是佛祖成道之日，佛寺取谷物和枣、栗、莲子等干果熬粥供佛，后来流行于民间。
《中国语言文化背景汉英双解词典》提供了“腊八粥”的释义和背景知识，如果用英语介绍腊八粥、腊八节，可以这么说：
A cereal porridge with dried fruits like dates, chestnuts and lotus seeds.
